Artist research

The artist i have decided to research about for lino is James Abbott McNeill he was an american born , British based artist and the reason was because when i was looking for artist who do lino printing i seen a picture of his work and i was instantly interested because even though his pictures are buildings and ports it was the fact that he used this lino styled type method to draw these pictures. The other artist i have research is Lucas van leydan was among the first Dutch exponents of genre painting and is generally regarded as a very accomplished engraver and so this is again because of the title that was given to him so when i look at his pictures it  peeked my interest even more because i could see why he was given that nickname
